How many shares? (Position size)
The 1–2% rule and a simple formula. · ⏱ 2 min
Never risk more than 1–2% of your capital on one trade. With Rs. 1 lakh, be ready to lose at most Rs. 1,000–2,000 on a trade.
Why? Lose 10 in a row (it happens to everyone) and the 1% rule still leaves 90% of your capital. Risk 10% each and five losses wipe out half.
